If you get a free program called power grabber you won't have to worry
about it; it will handle pretty much all of the file details behind the
scenes for you, and it's pretty jaws friendly.

There's one place where you must move the jaws cursor to the list of
subscribed news groups in order to click the one you want (there's no
keyboard method), but other than that, it's worked great for me and the
binary news groups.

FYI, AT&T offers a $6 plan per month (if you already have your own ISP )
which gives you *unlimited* access to their news server via your
existing ISP (if you use this, you will need a second free program
called stunnel for an SSL connection to their news server).
