You are correct in that it's more of a Windows XP question. For that reason I'm going to have to ask that everyone reply to her off-list. Another suggestion would be to direct your question toward a list related more toward Windows XP. I believe there is a list on freelists.org that accomplishes this from a blind person's point of view, though I'm not sure exactly off the top of my head.
