msn messanger problem

Hello list.
I have a small problem with msn messanger.  When I log in it tells me how many 
people are on line, but it does not show them.  When I switch to windows 
messanger it shows me who is on line, but I can not get the e-mail add-in to 
download.  I am using mjsn 5.0, jfw 5.0 and windows xp home.
