Subject: microsoft reader

Debby I both installed both the reader and speech and signed for a Microsoft account but when I open up the reader it does not talk, now I have not down loaded any books to it but does it say something when it opens or just waits for a book then starts talking
Jaws does not see anything but I am not surprised but the Microsoft voice does not talk either. I probably doing something wrong.
