Very occasionally I wonder if I have missed a message when a thread is developed and I don't remember seeing the beginning of it however it is equally possible that I missed it because it did not seem of interest to me at the outset and of course with the volumes of spam I might have inadvertently deleted something I would otherwise have seen. So far though I am not aware of receiving duplicates. Again there are often multiple messages which look the same from different senders and there are a lot of "me to" messages and a few subscribers who seem to need to add to every thread, often several repetitions so I may just be deleting several without reading them closely enough to recognize duplicates but so far as I can tell I am not getting duplicates. Seems to me the only list I ever get duplicates on is the K1000 list and that was some time ago now. That wasn't duplicates either, commonly I would receive a dozen or so of each all scattered in among the others so you were afraid not to open each one to be able to follow any thread. I recommend those receiving duplicates should keep in touch with the moderator so he can get some handle on how big a problem it is. Only that way can it be determined to be a list serve problem or a local ISP or computer problem. ----- Original Message ----- From: Steve Britt To: jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Saturday, October 09, 2004 5:55 AM Subject: Re: list messages Folks, you might want to check your connection cables and see if they need replacing. Sometimes a bad cable will cause delays and duplicates. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jim" <jazzpiano@xxxxxxxxxxx> To: <jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Saturday, October 09, 2004 12:20 AM Subject: Re: list messages > Hi Garry, not only are some of the messages not making it to the list, but I > still get duplicate messages. > Jim > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Gary Jackson" <gary@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> > To: "JFWlist" <jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> > Sent: Friday, October 08, 2004 1:57 PM > Subject: list messages > > > > Hi, > > > > Is anybody besides me noticing a very long delay of messages getting to > the > > list and some of them not even making it? > > > > Gary > > > > > > > > -- > > To post a message to the list, send it to jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx > > To unsubscribe from this mailing list, send a message to > jfw-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the word unsubscribe in the subject line. > > Archives located at: //www.freelists.org/archives/jfw > > > > If you have any concerns about the list, post received from the list, or > the way the list is being run, do not post them to the list.
