Now, I took a few days to get back to you because I needed to find
time to do the following. I uninstalled JAWS 6. I used the repair
function in JAWS 5 to repair the install. When that was done, I ended up
with a JAWS 5 that was now behaving the way JAWS 6 was! Besides not
reading file names in list boxes, I mean weird speech settings like saying
things way too fast, the inability to change these settings in the
configuration manager. Even though the configuration manger acts like I am
making changes, the changes I make have no effect!
On top of that, if I leave the computer idle for a few minutes and
JAWS is running, I get a blue screen that tell me a jaws dll file tried to
write to read only memory. Then all I can do is turn off the computer and
start over.
