Hi Linda,

to convert a .jpg file to text, you will need a so-called optical character recognition programme, such as OpenBook, FineReader, Omnipage or the like.
Load it into the programme you have, and start the recognition process, as you would normally do when you place a page on your scanner. Just that this time it is an image already there, rather than a page you put on a scanner.
