Well, I just sort of figured this out I think. when I try to play a cd
with windows media player, I get an error message saying that there is no
audio device installed! But, jfw still works, obviously! My computer
crashed a few weeks ago and I had to reinstall windows. I bet the driver
for my sound chip didn't make back onto the pc. I have one of those
integrated mother boards that has embedded sound and video chips..
