Not saying that you did anything to make Jaws not work right, but I 
sometimes think the more tinkering people do without understanding what 
they are doing causes more problems rather than fixing or optimizing 
things.  And maybe it's a case of not customizing the system to work 
well with Jaws as outlined in the Jaws manuals.  Some of the 
configurations of screen display that the sighted people use are just 
horrid for Jaws.  But like everything, there are a lot of variables, 
both human and otherwise, which play into things.  No program, no 
computer provider, and no user is ever perfect.
