A recent discussion on the blindtech list came up with this possible solution:
Did you install the Java Access Bridge? Rather than using OpenOffice.org's
native accessibility API, JAWS uses the Java
Access Bridge to gain access to OpenOffice.org. Also, did you report your
problems to the OpenOffice.org accessibility project:
http://ui.openoffice.org/accessibility/
Try that and see if it helps.
