jaws saying tab in word

I have windows 98, JAWS 5.1, and word 2000 and when using navigation key to 
move by word jaws have been saying tab. I have tried different things to get to 
stop saying tab, but have had no success. Does anybody have any suggestions to 
get jaws to stop saying tab.  Thank for the assistance in advance.
