I personally don't see the problem. Some found a bugg, posted it and thus varified it. to keep posting it is certainly malicious. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Matt Weaver" <weaver_m@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Sunday, May 01, 2005 9:17 AM Subject: RE: jaws quits on the word c a e s u r e it knocks out jaws, could someone find out what makes certain words do this? Dave Hutchins Fw: typing error I opened the default dictionary manager. I hit the add button. Next, I type the actual word. Then, I put how it's really spelled in the next edit field. I tab to the OK button and hit it. I also put in different variations, since any variation of "c a e s u r" will trigger the crash, not just the mispelling of that word. You'll want to create entries for the word, plus "ing", "ed", "s", "ings", etc. Put as many as you can think of. I'm on an IRC server consisting mostly of blind people. Most of us use JAWS, and Eloquence as the default synthe. well, some clown learned that this offending word will knock out our speech program, so he does it deliberately. We have dealt with him by canning him and his various IP's from our server, but where there's one idiot, there's a thousand. Take care. -----Original Message----- From: jfw-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:jfw-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx]On Behalf Of Chris Feist Sent: Sunday, May 01, 2005 12:19 PM To: jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: RE: jaws quits on the word c a e s u r e it knocks out jaws, could someone find out what makes certain words do this? Dave Hutchins Fw: typing error Hi. Could you tell us how you set it up so the offending word does not crash JAWS for you? I'd be very interested in making the same adjustments. Is this something you can do in Dictionary Manager? Thanks Chris Feist - The one and only! -----Original Message----- From: jfw-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:jfw-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Matt Weaver Sent: Sunday, May 01, 2005 11:01 AM To: jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: RE: jaws quits on the word c a e s u r e it knocks out jaws, could someone find out what makes certain words do this? Dave Hutchins Fw: typing error actually you're right. The originator wrote "the following screws up Jaws" then proceeds to type it with no spaces, so as not to cause anyone else's JAWS with Eloquence synthesizer from doing the same, while still showing us the word. Fortunately, I have come across this evil spelling of the word in other places, so have made definitions to say it the right way. This is a huge error in Eloquence, and the company who created the synthe either doesn't know, or doesn't care to fix it or post how this can be done, other than to make dictionary entries to replace the original spelling with a modified one. -----Original Message----- From: jfw-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:jfw-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx]On Behalf Of Eugene Baroni Sent: Sunday, May 01, 2005 7:40 AM To: jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Re: jaws quits on the word c a e s u r e it knocks out jaws, could someone find out what makes certain words do this?
