jaws crashing on windows update site

Wondering if others are experiencing this problem. Once I select a set of
updates from the xp update site to be installed, jaws crashes. I always
have to turn on Narator to finish the process and to know when the update is
completed. Using jaws 6.1x, the latest, XP Home, on a Dell Inspiron 9200
laptop.
