Have you tried  unloading jaws with insert+f4 and bring it back again?
Its strange that it says unread although you have  read messages. If the
problem persists, go into jaws verbosity with insert+v. there's a
setting to turn off announcing of unread messages. hth

I'm having proublems with jaws reading all my messages as unread even
i've read. i even went to the mues and told outlook express to mark all
as read. jaws stills says unread.
