a few additional comments to barry's excellent message.

the number one priority of the jfw screen reader when it comes to bugs is
to fix bugs that appear on most computers and those that deal with windows
components included in the o s.

so even worse was the bug with o e in version 5.1, that should have been
discoverred and fixed before the release.

thank god they went back and patched jfw5.0 with the 844 patch.

heck just yesterday we talked about how the wrong menu is brought up when
on a web site in i e and hitting the right application menu key does not
work properly.

that bug is about 2 plus years or older and stillwith us.
not to mention its on all computers.

as far as innovation is concern, not sure what feature the author of that
message was talking about.

jfw 6.0 2 best features, reading the progress bars and remote desk top
first appearred in window eyes and remote desk top was no additional cost
like it is in jfw.

so no innovation, just playing copy cat their.

in fact they should have gone one step further, and maid the progress bar a
manual keystroke like it is in window eyes for us users that like multi
tasking.

plus the cost for most for remote desk top is out ragious.

me personally, i already owned the pro key, but for those that do not you
get hit with a double whammy.

cost of upgrading to the pro key and also the extra 200 for remote desk top.

window eyes users where able to get the pro version for the price of an s m A.
about 66 dollars at the time they maid the offer.

bruce i think your missing a very obvious point.

first jfw knows their not fixing bugs.
secondly they really are not concernned with jfw as much as other products
they sell.

jfw is no longer the bread winner for freedom scientific, not even the best
saling software they produce.

magic is now the focus and the main concern, bottom line, more visually
impaired folks than totally blind ones.

in fact most of the focus in jfw 5 release was rewriting jfw to be
compatible with magic.

thats why 5 hardly offerred any features atall

it also explains why jfw 5.1 included a few extras, to make up for the loss
of stuff in 5.0.

unfortunately think 5 was a mix bag, sure it worked much better with magic
and i am happy f s did take this step, its only logical the 2 can work
together.

on the down side the rewriting of parts of the code also meant more issues
with older scripts and the like.

so i and others where hoping that older bugs and new bugs would be
addressed in version 6 and 6.1.

sounds like where still waiting for bug fixes.

also seems that f s may be headed down the same path as telesensory, which
virtually did the same thing, for got about screen reader users and
concentrated on devices for those that are visually impairred instead.

lets hope f s decides on a free upgrade to 6.2 that actually fixes bugs.

after all isn't the purpose of a point1 upgrade supposed to be more about
bug fixes.

now about the accent, well sorry to here thatnews.

but if your a keynote S A user forget using it with jfw in the x p enviroment.

not supported at all, though window eyes does support the keynote S A.
