The desktop itself. When I refer to desktop, I'm refering to what you end up
with shortcuts. No the aria with all the shortcuts is not technically in a list
the way win explorer is because it's multi-column, but jaws says listview, and
whether an item is selected or not. The problem is when I'm in this list view,
jaws doesn't say what is selected. It says selected and maybe something like 1
of 20, but I have know where I am. If I hit a letter, it doesn't say what I've
landed on. For example, if I hit j for jaws It will move between the jaws icons
on the desktop, but I don't know which one I'm at. Now in my origonal post, I
said listview on the desktop specifically because once I turned msaa on, the
listview worked in winamp library. Yes I changed the msaa feature in the
default config file. Something that doesn't work well in 6.1 that worked well
in 6. Maybe I need to run the display chaining manager again. Anyway that is
what I meant.

could you please give an example of a list view on the desktop? All I'm
familiar with being on the desktop are program shortcut icons on the main
part of it, then the task bar, the system tray when you open it with Insert
f11, and then the start menu and its submenus. In which of these areas are
you encountering a list view?

thanks.

You have to install them both in seperate directories. I think that's the
default. I've seen one problem where 6.1 won't read what is selected in a
list
view while I'm on the desktop

I down lowed jaws but had problems with 6.0 & 6.1 don't know what I did
wrong but I uninstalled 6.1 & it took part of 6.0. I told the uninstaller to
keep jaws settings & other things. It took around an hour. I finally got 6.0
reinstalled again. I am not the brightest light bulb in the room but I think
f s is getting very sloppy.
