The only problem with that approach is that I've been on and off this list
at times. Seems I recall early on, when I registered JAWS 4.0 with FS, I
had a spot to enter an email address. I also seem to recall, though I can't
confirm this, that when I spoke to FS soon after moving and then obtaining
5.0 and updating my SMA, that I gave them and my dealer my new contact info
including my new email address. If FS had a method on site to handle this
it would work better for all concerned. After all, every JAWS user isn't
necessarily a member of some kind of JAWS list on the internet. FS also
doesn't have anything posted on their web site specifically telling users to
join any certain list to get such announcements, so just because they use
those lists for announcements doesn't excuse it on their part. Without you
having told me this happened on this list, I never would have known it.

I would be curious to know, if I were to stop messages from the list for a
time, is there any way I would still receive the JAWS release messages
posted here? If not then it's not really a solution because sometimes
people need to stop messages for a time for one reason or another.

I'm just trying, like everybody else, to find some easier way than having to
visit the FS web site every few months or remain a member of a JAWS list
just to get announcements.

This also does not solve the SMA problem. I've had it explained to me, it's
just that something got screwed up early on when I initially bought JAWS,
and I'm pretty sure I got jipped on my initial purchase but can't prove that
now. As a result, I've been sort of lost since then, finding myself calling
FS just to inquire about the status of my SMA so I am not left in the dark
as I was twice before.
