Mike,
You're right. I was thinking all along it was Outlook when I read Office.

Hi Dave;
She said " windows office 2007, before in 2003, there was the (..doc) after a
file."
That is why I got the feeling that the Hide known file tuypes option was
turned on. Hope this has helped get that particular issue fixed. Take care.

Mike and Judy,
I got the impression from Sugar's original post that the problem was with
Outlook 2007, and not Windows Explorer.
Sugar? Can you confirm?

Hi Sugar;
This might be easier to fix than you have previously thought. It sounds
like the " Hide extensions for file types" is turned on. These steps are for
XP operating systems. To check this do the following;
1. Press your windows key + E keystroke for Windows Explorer.
2. Press Alt + T, for tools menu, & press the letter O, for options.
3. press control + Tab, to the view page.
4. and Now, tab to the Tree view files & folders list of settings.
5. Now, arrow down to the one that says, "Hide extensions for known file
types," and make sure this is off. If it's on, press the spacebar to turn it
off.
6. Now, tab to Apply press the spacebar, then tab to apply to all
folders, press the spacebar again, and then press the letter Y to confirm the
prompt. Tab to okay press enter & you should be done.
Your computer should now show extension types for all files.
Hope this helps. Take care.

thanks Mike, I have not yet experienced any issues with 11, but I have
with windows office 2007, before in 2003, there was the (..doc) after a file,
and now nothing, so it's a bit exhausting trying to fiure out which is a folder
and a file, and so not sure anything can be done about that, but oh well, just
another thing to adapt to suga

Hi Sugar;
My issues started from day 1 of the first build/ version of J11. As
they updated J11 things seemed to get better but, although the loss of focus
doesn't happen quite as often, J11 still loses focus regularly.I have spoken to
tech support & written my complaints but, since they can't duplicate the
problem they can't or won't help. As I stated earlier this happens on more
than 1 computer & more than 1 operting system. I don't use my computer all the
heavily so I don't think it's an issue of having to many processes or windows
open. 1 other thing about J11 that I have never been able to get answer for is
the default dictionary issues I have in all builds even though I could
duplicate the problem while in a tandem session or on the phone with tech
support. Okay, enough of the rant. LOL Take care.

Hi Shannon, Dave, & Chris;
I have this problem on a regular basis! For , no reason! It
will happen just by doing something as simple as clicking on something on the
desktop. When I invoke the Jaws key, windows key, + F4 keystroke, then when I
try to restart any version of Jaws with its respective hotkey, no version of
Jaws will load. I have to do a hard shutdown & reboot before I get Jaws back
again. I had this happen while I had Freedom Scientific on the phone for a
different reason and they couldn't figure out / explain why it would do this
either. I thought, at first, that I would be very happy with J12 but, it seems
to be doing the same old crap the J11 did! Losing focus & just quit working
while attempting the simplest of tasks'. I have written them & spoken with
them, to no avail. Hopefully somehow this activity, or lack of, will get
cleared up. Oh, by the way, this is happening on 2 different desktop computers
running XPSP3 Home, 1 laptop running XPSP3 Pro, & 1 desktop computer running
XPSP3 MediaCenter. Take care.
