Alice,

I got around that nasty laptop touchpad and touchstick. I had my sighted IT
guy disable these in the CMOS setup. Now I never have a problem with them.
Of course it also means that someone else trying to help me on my laptop is
mystified why they don't work, and we need to plug in an external mouse, but
that's a very small price to pay for "no more jumping cursor".

Dave

I find this happens often when I'm using the laptop, and I sort of assumed
it was because of the mouse pad (the kind that sighted people use with their
fingertip) being right in the middle that somehow, my fingers reaching for
keys or the space bar or alt key or something are triggering that mouse pad
thing.
    Does that make any sense?
