Subject: instructions for creating and using a Windows XP unatended
floppy disk

I would just emphasize one point before pasting these instructions.
This
same file is located within the Floppy without sound subfolder of the
Windows XP unatended kit folder which is created upon extraction of the
files in the original .zip folder. Once you unzip the folder and click
on
the Floppy Without Sound sub folder created with the extracted files in
it,
you'll see to files located in it. These files are:
ND Winnt.sif and Winnt.bat. Now, here are the instructions exactly as
pasted from the .rtf file included in the floppy sub folder.

This is the instructions for creating a unattended setup for xp that
uses a
floppy and an XP setup CD; this one assumes your sound card drivers are
already included on the windows XP CD. If your drivers are not included
see
the instructions in the CreateBootableCDWithSoundDriver.zip folder
instead.

*Warning, this answer file is for XP only. It has to be the full
install
CD. It will not work with an upgrade CD either; it must be the full
install
CD.

*Warning, this will completely wipe out your C drive and repartition it.

*Warning, if you have your hard drive partitioned off into more than one

partition it will delete all partitions and create one large partition.

*Warning, remove your jaws key from your hard drive before using this
answer
file.

*Warning, back up all your data before using this answer file because
your C
drive will be completely wiped out, repartitioned and formatted.

Instructions:

Part 1

1.. Open the ND Winnt.sif file with note pad and replace all the X's
with
your personal information then press Control plus S to save the changes.
  2.. Now rename ND Winnt.sif to Winnt.sif.
3.. You can also change your home Paige and display properties if you
wish
and add more favorites. I would recommend you leave it as is and change
it
from the control panel after windows is installed though.
4.. Format a 3 1 half floppy and copy the Winnt.sif file you just
modified
and the Winnt.bat file on to the newly formatted floppy disk.
5.. Part 2, how to use:
1. If your bios are not already set to boot from CD you will need
sighted
assistance to set this in your bios. It should be CD, floppy, then hard

drive. This will only need to be done once. Consult your computers
documentation for instructions because it is different on different
computers.

2. Insert your XP CD into your CD rom drive and the floppy you just
created
into your floppy drive.

3. Now shut down your computer completely.

4. Restart your computer with your XP CD and the floppy you created in
their perspective drives.

5. This is important; the XP CD puts up a screen when the computer is
started with it in the CD drive that says press any key to boot from the
CD.
We can't see this screen, but we know it is there so start tapping your
space bar repeatedly, not fast but in about one second intervals until
you
hear the CD start turning and the floppy grab. It will not hurt if you
do
this for to long, it is better to long than to short because if it does
not
boot from the CD set up will go directly to the floppy and hang there.
If
it does not take the first time, turn off your computer and start over.

6. Now it will start the setup and pull the information such as the CD
key
etc. off of the floppy. The XP music will start playing when it is
done.

7. After you hear the music hit the windows key plus the letter U to
bring
up the utility manager. This will also bring up narrator. If you get
stuck
in the utility manager and cannot close it, hit alt plus F4 until it
closes.

8. Now alt tab till you get to the XP startup screen and enter your
name
and hit next. Choose no to the screens that ask you if you want to set
up
your internet now and if you want to activate now, this can be done
after
you install jaws. Hit finish on the last screen. Windows will now
restart
and narrator should still be on, if not hit windows key plus U again to
bring it up.

9. Remove the XP CD and the floppy then reboot and install jaws.
