Try going to the system tray with JAWS F11, then arrow down and see if the
item for updates is in the list.  Don't know but should be worth a try.

I have the same trouble when JAWS reads prompts for updates or other types
of information. My problem is also that even if I understood the
information, I often can't find the place to click. For example, if a prompt

comes up while I'm reading my eamail that says there is an update avail for
my antivirus program. I can't then find where to click to tell it to update.

I'm running JAWS 9.
