Insert 8 is a left click right? Why would you want to try that if your not
sure your speech is working as you might accidently click on something.

  Rick,

Do you possibly have two versions of JAWS both set to start automatically?
That might jam things up.

Also on my system I know that the logon screen comes up at least 30 seconds
before JAWS starts talking, as observed by sighted peers.

Check your verbosity settings in the default configuration and make sure that
you have the echo set to highlighted.

And to clarify, are you saying that JAWS does not speak automatically on its
own, or that even if you press Insert+ 8 you still hear nothing?

My JAWS 12 with latest update, under the Basic Options is set to start
talking at startup. The checkbox IS checked.

Yet when I shut down my system, and power back up, there is a blue screen
with the primary user, the place for a guest to log on and it does NOT speak.
This is Windows 7 Home Premium system.

If I muffed up something, I sure cannot think where to pursue fixing it.

    Thanks for any suggestions.

    Rik
