I also noticed this behaviour with GodWave 5.08 but also with many other =
software : WinAce archiver or FineReader among others.
But I could reproduce this by doing as follows :
(1) I opened a command prompt.
(2) I entered the following command :
type mytextfile
where mytextfile was a quite large text file. A file with about 300 =
lines of text would definitely raise this jaws problem on my system.
The text was made with two different computers : one with an AMD Athlon =
XP 1800+ and an ATI Radeon 7000/VE graphics card. The other computer was =
a Compaq with a Pentium IV rated at 1.4 gHz or so and a nVidia Vanta16 =
graphics card. Both computers are running under Windows 2000 SP3. Tests =
were made successively with Jaws 3.71, 4.51 and 5.0.844.
I don't know why this happens but I suspect it has to do with really =
fast screen updates but I'm not sure. The problem is that the only =
solution I coud find when menus are not displayed properly is to shut =
down Jaws and then, restart it.
If anyone know a better solution to this Jaws "fast screen updating" =
problem, especially how to prevent Jaws from being disturbed when =
applications perform fast screen updates, I'd really like to know.

This is my setup.
Dell DIMENSION 8300.
Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.00GHz.
512 MB of RAM.
Windows XP home SP2..
soundcard: Creative Odegy2
Display adapter: NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200
I'm using Jaws with eloquence and have downloaded the scripts for gold =
wave
from jfwlite but when I press insert q to find out what scrip is loaded, =
it
says default. Gold wave version is 5 point 8.
