Hi, two things I can think of. You don't have any accounts other than your administrative account, meaning Windows won't display the Windows Log On dialogue box. The other could be the scanner/JAWS combination, but since I don't have this combination to test with, I can't prove the latter. Hope this helps though.

Now, I don't know if this contradicts your definition or experience, but that scanner test runs *before* Jaws speaks, and also my Desktop is fully up and visible before Jaws speaks, also.
