Since your post was in response to mine. Ahh, Debbie, my husband? Judy and I always thought she was a wife. But I am definitely the boss, and I have her permission to say so. Will try the double click as what you describe indeed is what happens. It's rare that the menu bar itself gets moved out of place, but it can happen. Here is a message I sent once about the menu bar being out of place in word. it might be that your menu bar has gotten moved out of place. When you first open word, do you hear menu bar, file edit view insert and all the rest of the commands? If so, route jaws to PC and arrow down and use your jaws cursor and see if you can actually locate in the document window where it says menu bar and the menu commands. If you can then position your jaws cursor anywhere in the words menu bar, not on the M but a little farther in, and press the left mouse button twice quickly. This will cause it to go back into place back at the top of the window where a menu bar belongs! If your husband is around it might be worth it to have him take a look and see if the menu bar is out of place. I'm not surprised. That is why I added Or you can just go to the view menu, toolbars and uncheck any toolbars that might be floating (keep standard and formatting checked). Another thing you can do when you find a floating toolbar is left double click it with the jaws cursor, that should cause it to dock in place. They are a pain, that's for sure. Or you can just go to the view menu, toolbars and uncheck any toolbars that might be floating (keep standard and formatting checked). Floating Toolbars Some toolbars in Word "float" over the document edit window. Floating toolbars are sometimes difficult to access with the keyboard and can obscure document text. Therefore, JAWS automatically docks all floating toolbars in Word. Once a toolbar is docked, you can access it using the commands described previously(which is alt key then control tab to the toolbar). ----- Original Message ----- From: "Alicia" <astarner@xxxxxxxxxxx> To: <jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Thursday, July 13, 2006 12:28 AM Subject: Re: floating tool bars in word Thanks a bunch> This was the ticket and I can now arrow up and down through my word document.
