I'm sorry to say this, but the more complex and excellent your comments
become, and the more I need to listen carefully to them, the more difficult
this becomes with equals signs every few words. Is there any way you can
avoid doing whatever produces these characters? thanks very much.

Hmm. that's interesting. when I'm working in Word, I play around =

the virtual buffer on and off, and the only difference it seems to make =

that I feel myself more directly in contact with the screen, and can =

about more crisply than with the virtual whatever-it-is toggled on =

V). Maybe this is just psychological, because I think of the visible=20
evidence of the virtual buffer as something like a clear plastic slip =
