I didn't ever offer an opinion as to which of these two Find functions was
the better one. Please understand that. As for interrogating Freedom
Scientific out of curiosity about why there are a couple of Find commands,
etc., that isn't something I feel the need to do. I took the chance of
broaching the topic here because I thought it might be interesting to others
and I might be responded to coherently by someone in possession of knowledge
precisely about this object of my curiosity. but that hasn't been the
result, as you may be aware.
Now I'm going to quite responding to any further messages with this subject

Because I already use it there and elsewhere. It works just as well or
better in the IE environment. It is a universal JAWS command, whereas
ctrl-f for Find is neither a JAWS nor windows universal command.
However, As I said, if it could be
put to another more specific Find use, in Internet Explorer, well, I
might go with that. And
as it is, it is not the same as the Ctrl-F Virtual Find. The best
people to go to about real or perceived duplication of functionality
are, after all, Freedom Scientific themselves. Every user has or
develops their own way of doing things. With that, their come opinions
on what's best.

I believe that JAWS would be the poorer without the Insert-Ctrl-F Find
command being also available in Internet Explorer. (Unless it were to
be redefined to a more specific Find command.)

I think that's a distinction that doesn't really matter. When I do a
Find
on a Web page, what I'm looking for is some text within a newspaper
article
or something of the same sort. I don't see what it matters whether the
find
command is looking in Jaws virtual buffer or on the original web page.
To
me, it's simply looking for material that's been presented on that page.

The JAWS Find on the web is used for a blind user to find specific text
on
the screen, not the web page.
