run check disk. Go into my computer, highlight your local hard drive, tab until you find the tools tab and down arrow to error checking button. Check both boxes and select ok. A dialog box will open telling you that it can't lock the drive and needs to do it on next reboot. Select yes. Depending on the size of your drive it can take anywhere from 30 min to 1 hour. When it is done the pc will startup automaticly. ----- Original Message ----- From: Judith Bron To: jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Sunday, April 29, 2007 3:50 PM Subject: error message Yesterday when I booted up I got the error message that something with jaws had lodged itself somewhere and all I got was the message about this error, the machine wouldn't completely boot up and I never heard, "Jaws for windows is ready." I know this is dubious but does anyone have a clue as to what the problem was? This morning I tried booting up again prepared to see the same message but, thankfully, the machine booted up as usual. Should I do anything else to make sure that everything is really all right? Thanks, Judith
