RE: empty document alert in adobe reader 9

Any time you try to read a document that has been scanned, using Adobe
Reader, this will happen.  If you have OpenBook, try the following:

1. Open OpenBook then minimize it.
2. Open the document in Adobe.
3.  After receiving the "empty document" alert, go to file and print.
4.  In the print dialog box, choose freedom import printer.

Hopefully, the OCR will work.

If you don't have OpenBook, there is other scanner software with OCR that
may help.

hey list! i have a nagging problem with adobe reader 9. when i open a
pdf file sometimes i get an alert empty document message even there is
text! i nead to be able to read a textbook from cisco systems! i am in
chapter 4 and tried to read to chapter for a test i have on thursday!
i get a massage that it was an image as well. i am curious as to whats
going on! i at my school named louisiana technical colledge they only
have a sheet fed scanner and tried to scan the chapter as a pdf file
but i get the same message whith the scanned file to.
