As I've said before, we've gone clear away from what the list is supposed to
be here for. Let's move this to private emails, or another list, please.

Part of the problem is that just because something is on Youtube, doesn't
mean it got there legally. You're usually not in a position to figure out
whether the content you're viewing is legitimate or not, so stay away. What
difference does it make if the video runs or not, and what difference does
it make if you listen to it on Youtube or on your own computer. The
situation is, if the content is eventually found to be illegal, it can be
removed. However, once it's copied to any number of local computers, the
damage can't be undone.

Hi, Kevin,
Maybe I'm not understanding this correctly, but if someone takes a video

that is up for all to view on youtube and basically removes the visual
component by putting it into an MP3 format so that he/she can listen to it
without having to bother with the visual, which is little use to most of us,

is that copying? Isn't it only putting what is already available free to
all those who watch it on youtube into a more convenient format for us?
Thanks. Alice alicedh@xxxxxxxxxxx
