Re: copying email sender's address

Bruce,
Thanks a llot. Until you posted this and two others on the list explained
it in privat email, here's what it sounded like: there is this new Jaws
trick you can use in Outlook Express, but you have to do it manually because
there's no keystroke. I'm thinking, huh? So what it turns out is that
Freedom Scientific added the new function as a script, but simply neglected
to associate a key command with it, just a very basic lapse on their part.
So, you have to create the hotkey yourself. You see, that's not what
"manually" means, for instance, and a lot of other stuff that I haven't been
able to make sense of this morning, either. This is not a good
communication day on this list, I guess. thank you again for explaining,
and thanks also to the two others who also understood the cause of my
perplexity, as well. Whew. Wiping brow.

I'm running Jaws 7, and not the public Beta of the update. So I guess
either I go through the instructions for creating the hotkey, or just wait
until the update's released. If I'm feeling lazy.

The keystroke for the function has not been defined under JAWS. One has to
go into the keyboard manager and define whatever keystroke one would like
for this function.

1. Go into the keyboard manager with JAWS key+8.

2. Make sure you are on the keyboard configruation for Outlook or Outlook
Express.

3. Tab to the list of keyboard definitions, and type repl in rapid
succession to get to the "reply directly to sender" definition.

4. Hit control+a to add a definition.

5. Choose the key you want to define for this function. In the 7.1 beta,
FS has chosen insert+shift+r, which seems as good a keystroke as any.
Enter this keystroke.

6. It will ask you to confirm. Hit spacebar to do so. Then close the
keyboard manager.
