Hi Jim, I think you'd have to be pretty sophisticated to actually know why it happens, technically, but I can assure you that you're not the only one who suffers this annoyance. It's a known issue. Meaning FS knows about it, for what good that has done so far. In my case, when it happens, not only do the control C paste and Control X actions stop speaking, but the Control V paste also shuts up. I've experimented, just out of curiosity, and found that the functions are still working. You can do that easily by copying and pasting something and then checking to see if the copied text or file is where you tried to put it. So nothing has gone awry with Windows, if that's any comfort. But of course a person doesn't want to go on working like that, usually. So just exit Jaws with Insert F4, launch it again and go on. It shouldn't happen repeatedly, or at least it shouldn't happen again very soon. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jim" <jimscave@xxxxxxxxxx> To: <jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Saturday, July 12, 2008 3:05 AM Subject: control c Heya folks, Jaws 8 and 9 after an hour or so stops speaking when I do a control c for copying items, control paste is still spoken though.
