I would have to agree with this assessment. Unless you have taken the
time and trouble to run a piece of software which goes all through your
hard drive and writes high values and then makes a second pass writing
low values to all supposidly unused areas of the drive several brands of
software can "recover" the "accidently" deleted items from your drive.
I would format the drive and then install whatever software you wanted
the new person to have.

If the system is being given away to a friend, school, church, or
whoever is not under your roof, reformatting is the best solution. There
is software out there that can uncover supposedly deleted files you've
deleted.

Well, the most foolproof way would be to reformat. I'm not trying to
sound cute, but if totality is what you're after that just might be your
