caps lock on

I heard a long time ago that there was a way that you could make your caps
lock beep, to let you know that you had accidentally hit it. I have windows
98se. Steve's computer tips told how to do it. When I had someone try to
help me, he said that the area, where the alarm sounds and the window sounds
was grayed out. What does this mean, and can someone help me to put the
alarm on? I have jaws 5.10. Glenna
