I haven't used that particular alias; however, in Word (and perhaps elsewhere), 
there is a peculiar font called small caps.  The text is in capital letters, 
but about half height.
We used to use that font for the "method of delivery" line on our template 
letters.  I guess some people like it, and I'll bet the alias is intended to 
identify that particular font.
