Michael,

Everything depends on the quality, availability and pricing of the dealer you contact. I have not found dealer prices to be lower, but perhaps that's because of the market where I live. More to the point, I've found that many computer technicians who serve the blind charge exorbitant prices for their services. I've done best working through FS's tech support, hiring a non-specialized consultant and lately reading these list messages. Finding a non-specialized computer technician or consultant who isn't intimidated by adaptive software can be daunting. However, when you find that person, in my experience they are often more skilled and charge more reasonable rates. Ironic. Again, perhaps it's the market where I am, far from Texas.

Hi All,

Has anyone had any experience purchasing Jaws software from an authorized retailer as opposed to buying Jaws directly from Freedom Scientific? If so, what was your experieince like? Was it better, worse, same? I live in Texas so we only have one authorized Jaws retailer. They're called Crystal Vision. I ask only because I noticed that Freedom Scientific offers the option on their web site of buying their products either directly from them or through a retailer. They even provide a list of authorized vendors. If I can get better service or discounts by doing business with one of these retailers, then I'll probably go with them. Thanks.

Michael
