Okay. Here's something interesting. As I received this post in my own
Inbox, it was *not* announced to have an attachment. And that despite the
fact that there's an AVG announcement.
Just an interesting variable. Also, I wonder if others on the list do have
Jaws seeing an attachment symbol, even though I don't. That would be
interesting to know. For comparison, I'm using OE 6, Windows XP Home w/SP
2, and Jaws 7.0.

Well, as I said, it doesn't do this to my email when I send it to myself,
and no correspondent of mine has mention anything about it. I will look now
to see if the attachment thing happens when this reply posts.
If turning off the announcement worked for you, though, I'm glad. I don't
personally have a problem with this thing, though. I know that if a message
on one of my lists says it has an attachment, it probably doesn't, and when
other incoming mail says it's got an attachment, I just check to see. And I
like the reassurance effect of broadcasting that I'm using an antivirus
program. Even so, I'm curious about how this all works, even if idly
curious. Now I'll send the reply, and see how it appears on the list.

The AVG certification apparently does cause the erroneous attachment
announcement because now that several list members including myself have
turned it off we are no longer getting the attachment message when there is
