You can instruct Windows to automatically launch a program in a maximized
view in the properties of the shortcut. To do this:

1. Focus on the shortcut

2. Open the properties from within the Application Menu

3. On the Shortcut property sheet, navigate to the "run" option

4. Within the Combo Box, select "maximized"

5. TAB to OK and save the changes

Now, when you launch the application from the shortcut or with an associated
keyboard command, the application will always run in a maximized view.
