I don't understand what you all are going to wait for with regards to installing the final version of 7.1. This is the final version. The next release will be version 8 which is slated to be published in December. Speaking as a computer programmer who has been in the business for 23 years everyone must report all bugs to freedom no matter how trivial you think they are and no matter whether you have seen someone post this same bug on any discussion list. You must report your system configuration, version of operating system and version of the program you are having the problems with. When my shop received error reports we first looked at the problems that were reported by the highest number of people because this statistically would be the problem that would effect the most users even if they did not report the problem. Also a company like Freedom is going to spend more time fixing bugs or adding enhancments to Jaws for the programs most utilized by the public. For example jfw 7.0 started working with Mozilla firefox/thunderbird because the market requested that it be a part of the next version because many shops are using these products. This is why you don't see much or any effort for outdated versions of software such as office 97 or rbase 5000 or dbase because the market has swung away from these products. Also by stating I will not pay for SMA's until they make a package that is more stable, is absolutely rediculas. What you are stating is I don't want to further the production of Jaws because both the SMA's and new purchases fuel the production teams budget for the product. If you are that unhappy with jaws then make the commitment to either be a part of the solution or drop the product and go to Window Eyes or any other screen reading software on the market. -----Original Message----- From: jfw-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:jfw-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of George Marshall Sent: Thursday, June 22, 2006 1:59 PM To: jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Re: another potential bug in 7.1 Hi Jim & all: I downloaded 7.1 last night (3 hours on a dial-up) and after reading some of these emails this morning I am also going to wait about installing it.
