Jennie,

I've had something similar going on ever since I switched to JAWS 11 from
JAWS 9, using MS Outlook 2007.

The status bar becomes filled with text fragments of the various messages it
accumulates over time, until it's almost unreadable. I restore and then
maximize Outlook to reset back to a meaningful message.

I don't have the select issue that you report, however.

Dave

Hi
I believe it has something to do with skemes. I had the same problem after
installing JAWS 11. Maybe someone with more expertise than me can tell you
the steps for fixing it, but I do know it has something to do with needing
to reset the skeme, which tech support helped me with over the phone. It has
something to do with how the video card recognizes color changes I think.
They insisted it was not the fault of JAWS, but funny how this only occurred
after upgrading to JAWS 11. Things get shifted in the install I suppose.

Hi,

Same problem with my new HP laptop.

Also, JAWS does not always speak the ctl+X and ctl+C commands when going
down the list of messages. The commands do, however, work but you wold never
know it from JAWS.

I do have the same configuration, JAWS 11, Windows 7 and Office 2007
professional. I am using Microsoft Outlook for my email.

Dear Alex,

I seem to have the same configuration as you have (Jaws 11, Windows 7 and
office 2007). I have the same issue with JAWS saying "not selected" when
arrowing down a list of messages. If I want to have a message selected, I
have to arrow up again. This is indeed not very convenient.

I have jaws 11 and Outlook 2007 under Windows7. For some reason recently,
all the items in any of my mail folders say not selected before the item is
read out. This in itself is not a major issue. However the status bar is
also not spoken, although the item for the status bar is checked in the view
menu. This rather irritatingly means I can't tell how many items there are
in each folder. The appliation is maximized, so it's not that. An help would
be very gratefully received.

Cheers

Alex
