Thanks for the thought, I might try that.

I was originally going to say that it wouldn't work because of the foot 
pedal that I have to use, but it's just a USB foot pedal so I assume that it 
would control Winamp as well.

If the files you work with are wave files why not play them with something
like Winamp where you can adjust the volume as you need it.
