Could be. Although I started with version 3.5 and don't remember having that
many. And in those days it was a 3.5 inch floppy disc with the activation, that
you could use whenever you tanked. Long before ILM came around.

It's been only 3, as long as I can remember.

Teresa,
It's not a big deal unless you have zero and need to install.
Just call Freedom Scientific at 727 803-8600 and press "5" in the menu.
A
nice person will take your serial number and tell you how many
activations
you currently have. They can reset them for you to a maximum of 3.
That's
what I just did, and it was painless.
By the way, I was down to zero, so I'm glad this topic came up. I'm
back to
3 and a little reassured.

Oh, goodness, folks are angry. If I didn't want to deal with JAWS
authorizations and such, I have more choices than I have had in a long
time. There's Linux and Gnome with Orca, Mac with VoiceOver,
Window-Eyes, and system Access, just to name a few. Though I'm always
experimenting with different access technologies, I'm most comfortable
using JAWS for the moment. When the time comes, I'll find another
solution.
