Hi.
First, you can get to the desktop on the remote machine with the
usual windows+m command. If the windows+m command actually takes you to the
desktop of the local machine, just hit ctrl+alt+pause in the remote desktop
window. This will shift the remote machine to "full screen" on the local
machine, and all commands (alt+tab, windows+m, etc) will be sent to the
remote machine. To get out of remote desktop in full screen mode, you'll
need to either hit alt+ctrl+pause again to make the remote desktop a
standard window, then hit windows+m to get to the local desktop, or you can
hit alt+ctrl+delete, which will take you to the local task manager, from
whence you can go where you will. BTW, in the options screen of the remote
desktop application, which is available by hitting the options button in the
connection dialogue, you can control when keys like windows+m or alt+tab get
sent to the remote machine. You can make it so that they get sent to the
local machine all the time, to the remote machine all the time, or to the
local machine when remote desktop is a standard window and to the remote
machine when remote desktop is a full screen window (this is the default).
As for the Remote machine being logged out when you get to it (what
you describe when you say Jaws isn't talking sounds like that), just start
narrator (windows+U) and log in again. Jaws will start speaking.
Alternatively, use a fingerprint reader, smart card, etc to log into the
machine again. Jaws should start speaking and all your programs should be
open where you left them.
        Aman

Subject: a few remote desktop questions

Hey guys,
got remote desktop to work, it is sweeeeet!
Now, i have a few minor issues.
If i do a terminal session in to a machine, how do i get to the desktop of
that machine?
Also, after i log out of that machine, i physically went over to that local
machine.
Much to my dismay, jaws had stopped working locally on that box.
In other words, when i hit stuff on the keyboard, nothing worked.
Any idea of what i have to do?
Thanks,
Jed
