Re: Your first screen reader!

My first official screen reader was vocal eyes with Dos and the DecTalk hardware version. I really miss that thing. All I had on that machine was Word Perfect and a few self voicing games. Before that was an Apple 2E and at home an Apple GS running word talk and, again, a few games. Jaws came much later and when I switched from just dos to a computer running dos with vocal eyes and windows with Jaws. It's presently just jaws.

Hello all,

Without getting off topic regarding Jaws, I'd be interested to know what
your first memories of screen readers are. Mine begin with Jaws 3.2 on an
old Gateway PC back in 1997. Good oal Doubletalk PC couldn't even handle the 
Romance languages for heaven's sake!
