I also went on to say and still be useful (I meant, for all the
calendaring functions we're about to discuss; of course, you can just
keep a list  in a text file, that's pretty simple).

Yes, you just need to choose one of the predefined "list" views, instead
of the week or month at a glance views.

I believe you want the "active appointments" list view; this one only
shows you appointments in the future.  You can also work with archiving
to automatically remove appointments from the past if you'd like them
gone.

Outlook is not a news client, you'll need to use outlook express for
that.

This is only possible when your network admin has set it up so that your
outlook data is stored on an Exchange server; if this is already the
case, then, you don't need to do anything at all (unless you want to
give some specific individuals special priviledges like being able to
see or edit your calendar; in that case, you just use the "assign
delegates" function, which is very easy).
