Jim -
Don't know what is causing the problem.
But one suggestion to give you speech back is to bring up Microsoft's
Narator via Utility manager and the Windows - U key combination.
Typically, Narator is set to start when Windows-U is pressed and this
gives you speech output of what is on the screen albeit rather
primatively. Using Narator, you can typically read the dialog and
buttons.

    Hiya list,
Am running XP Home and jaws 7.10.500 and have been getting on a
consistant basis when sometimes i lose wireless connection I get a work
offline dialog box asking whether i want to work offline of try again.
That parts not so much the problem just sometimes i lose complete speech
from Jaws and no matter what i do doesn't seem to come back. My partner
who has vision has noticed using the mouse the offline dialog box is up
but cause jaws goes quiet I'm stuck when alone here as I don't know what
to do.

Does anyone here know why this happens? and a way around it? Also if
there's something like an error message on the desktop that I cant get
too is there a way to bring that dialog box on top again so Jaws reads
it?

Cheers,

Jim
