Word Pad Font

I want to change the default Font in WordPad Version 6 .0 That came with Windows Vista. The default seems to be Arial. If I change it to New Roman the next time I start Word Pad it is back to Arial. I have tried to find a set as default button using the PC and Jaws cursor but can't locate it. All help appreciated. Tom
