Yep the reading message commands work fine with 8.1 as you are unable to get
8.0 any more.

I am using MSN Messenger 7.5, and when I am conversing with someone, to hear
the last message I use Alt+1 on the numbers row, to go back 2 messages,
Alt+2 etc.

Does that work with Messenger 8.0?

Bob

Hi Hal
Yes, it all has to do with the little alert that flashes on the
screen when a contact signs in. For some inexplicable reason, JAWS
will not read the entire contact name when the alert flashes on the
screen, and a press of the hot key, which I changed back to alt plus
control plus f12, delivers the exact same results. It only seems to
happen with contacts with particularly long screen names. When you
go to the actual contact list window in windows live messenger, these
screen names read *exactly* as they should. There is no way, I know
of at least, to change the way that the alert looks on the screen
when a contact signs in. But for some reason, Windows Live Messenger
has changed the way the alert window looks, and a script may have to
be modified to change that particular behavior.
It's not a big deal, but I wanted to see if I could fix this problem.
