I have found the oposite. For me win 7 boots up a lot faster than my xp OS did. Also, I found that the programs open faster, jaws doesn't freezes that much any more (although when it does I can't seem to shutdown the prosses as fast as I did on XP) I also found that the whole experience with win 7 is much better than xp. One thing though, did you deleted the windows.old file on your hard drive? I found that after I deleted it it my computer became speedy Gonzales. lol! Also, one more thing, On my old XP OS I had my maian hard drive about 65% full. I had my music, videos, podcast, and documents on my machine and it wwill stop into a crawl. Now with win 7 I have the same media, almost the same programs and it doesn't stall. It works faster in general compared to XP. I am using a p4 3.2 GHz and 4 GB RAM and to me Windows 7 is a little slower than XP when booting. Haven't used it for that long, but we'll see how I like it. Christian
