Ah, I get it. I'll go to the page just to look, anyway, but your
description explains it well. I have only one memory to draw on of a
similar page navigation situation where lack of blank spaces the way
you're
describing confused me so much that I dropped my subscription to a
particular online journal, because the table of contents for each issue
didn't leave blank lines between the article titles and their subheads
and
or authors' names, and however hard I tried to keep clearly in mind the
sequence, so I could figure out which article was rotten by which of the
issues several writers, I kept getting confused because the items weren't
separated by blank lines from each other.
But I'll admit, I wasn't navigating then in terms of headings, just
arrowing
down through the table of contents. Even now, were I to return to that
page, I don't think I'd be using headings for going through the list.
But
what counts here is the mess it can make of a list such as the one you're
describing to not have blank lines separating the listed items clearly
from
each other.
Hope you have some success fixing this. By the way, since you say it's
essentially your own Web page, is it that you want to change the Jaws
behavior so that you can tell other Jaws users how to do it? Do you also
hope to host many sighted visitors, and do you think that the list looks
that way to them, just a mush of text without any breaks?

Yes, I'm talking about html headings; sorry I misspoke.
As an example of what I'm concerned about, go to my online discography:

There, you'll see that the track listing for each album is preceded by a
level 3 heading, giving the title of the album. But, between any such
heading and the track listing immediately above, there is no longer a
blank
line, as there used to be with 7.0. I find this a bit confusing, when
reading through the discography with the up and down arrows, and not just
jumping from heading to heading. I'd like to revert to the 7.0 behavior,
if
I can figure out how to do so.

Yes, Debbie. I think that's what I had in mind; I remember coming across
that text, before. But, I'm pretty sure I read it in one of the ins-F1
dialogues, for an option somewhere in Configuration Manager. But, at

I can use the options in the ins-V dialogue, to experiment with them, to

Dana, I don't remember that being in configuration manager.
The jaws help says for example:
When reading a Web page with the Virtual Cursor, JAWS places each link
on
its own line, even if the document visually presents the link on a line
with
other text or additional links.
Tables. JAWS reads the cells in order from left to right and behaves
as
if
each table cell begins on a new line.
So jaws doesn't ever actually change the way the page is displayed
except
for the way it "interprets" and "stores" it in the virtual buffer.
Could you be thinking of documentation presentation? Screen layout
versus
simple layout? (insert V dialog).
Both 7.0 and 7.1 say JFWLite Home Page (heading 1) followed by Programs
Page.
